When overhauling the engine, counterbores are always measured for proper protrusion. If one or more are below minimum specification, or out of range compared to adjacent cylinders, we cut all the counterbores. Counterbores are cut for all Cummins ISX and Cat C15 engines that have not been cut before. All other components are carefully inspected.
